HISTORY AND STRUCTURE
The school started in 1956 with 14 students. From the beginning it was a mixed day school and the current teachers then were 4.
The school is located in Marimanti town, Tharaka south in Tharaka Nithi County.
The classes start from preprimary 1 and 2 which have 105 students with preprimary 2 having 2 streams. The rest are class 3 up to class 8 which have 1 stream each.
There is also a special unit class for the physically and mentally challenged that has 27 students in total.
Currently the school has 375 students and 105 ECD (Early child development) students(total is 480 students). There are 13 teachers and 1 special unit teacher who is specially trained to handle special needs children.
The special unit class follows the 8:4:4 curriculum but they learn at their own pace. When a student improves they are placed in a class that matches their ability.
The school has a dining hall, kitchen, administrative block, multiple classrooms, school field, school bus and a chapel.
The school has 5 support staff including;
- 2 cooks
- 1 grounds man
- 1 secretary
- 1 watchman.
It also has 2 PTA teachers and 3 other teachers for the ECD section.
Currently the number of boarders in the school are 176.
The school is partially funded annually 2 times by the government
The school conducts parents day, clinic day and class meetings once every term.

SCHOOL’S DAY SCHEDULE
A general assembly of all classes in the morning and evening
The first lesson starts at 7 am up to 7 50 am
There are 10 lessons every school day, 2 breaks and a lunch break.
Clubs and games start at 4 40 pm.
There are 4 exams every term for students ranging from ECD classes up to class 6
There are 6 exams every term for students studying from class 7 and class 8.
The students participate in;
- Debate club
- Music festivals
- Environmental club
- 4k club
The school also has 6 FISH PONDS managed by the 4k club students and pupils. The fish are sold by the school for income and also fed to students to supplement their protein intake.
The best performing students are taken on an educational tour as a motivational tool
